I have been intrigued by “painting in wool” for some time. As a painter and handspinner, I have plenty of inspiration and lots of wool. I watched how-to videos and bought a couple needles, a piece of felt and a styrofoam pad from a local craft store. I started a piece, but abandoned it because I hated the feeling and sound of the needles punching into the styrofoam backing! I found the large wool felting pads on Felted Sky’s website, and decided to order their very affordable and complete “Spring Blooms” Mini Masterpiece Needle Felting Kit before investing more money and time into exploring this technique. The kit actually includes a small size wool felting pad and every thing needed to complete this charming small project. The included beginner’s guide to needle felting, instruction sheet and link to video instructions are excellent. This, or another of design of their mini kits, would make a great gift for someone to try needle felting. the kit was well-packed and arrived quickly. I have not been able to sit down to it yet, but am eager to try it.

I’m very much a beginner and didn’t expect to be able to do this. I loved it so much though and decided to give it a try. I kept the YouTube tutorial at my side and followed along. I love that I was encouraged to make it my own and I did just that. And wow…these wool colors! They are fantastic!
Fun and easy! I love how everyone's is just a little bit different. I finished mine over about 3 days. I did break 1 needle but there were plenty. This is my second of this type of felting project.
A really fun and really quick project! I've needle-felted before, years ago, and wanted a refresher to sharpen (hey-o!) my skills. This was perfect for just that, plus helping me learn about adding depth of field to a piece, which I hadn't done much of before. Highly recommended!

I really enjoyed doing this little project. The video was a great help. I'm a beginner and felt pretty good about the results.
If you enjoyed the Halloween Tree kit you will like this one, too. The techniques and the composition are more complex. Since I made the spooky tree first, i felt well prepared to tackle this design. I am making it slowly with friends who also have the kit. This is a great way to needlefelt and i recommend you share the making this way for twice the fun. I am also very pleased that the design is yellow rather than pink. I like cherry blossoms as much as anyone, but this colorway is refreshingly different from most spring themed projects out there. :-) The video that is linked to the kit is very thorough and i recommend using it along with the printed directions. The pictures in the printout are quite small; on Youtube you can zoom into the video to see details.
I love everything I order from Felted Sky. They are all quality products with good directions. My go to source for felting.

New to felting and this is not too difficult. Instructions (both written and video) are very helpful. Love that it had everything I needed to get started on a project. Also purchased the Snowy Pines.
To date my experience is only of receiving it in the mail. I've not had time to start working on it. I received it quickly and it's packaged very nicely.
