This felting Wool is 100% made in USA (including the fiber!) unlike many of the other felting batts on the market. If you love supporting small scale domestic production, you can feel good about this product. 40% of the wool in these batts is merino from Texas, and 60% is a mix of medium grade wool from the Eastern US. It is small batch dyed and carded on a beautiful farm in Central Kentucky.
This wool is fairly soft, and fairly short staple with hardly any vegetable matter. It is very uniform and really lovely to work with.
Please note dye lots can and do vary from batch to batch. We are working to minimize this, but there will always be some differences in color, which is part of small scale production.

Love this fiber and the selection of colors is wonderful. I think I used every color of green in the Palette group and a few of Fleece group to create the pasture and landscape in the cow piece. It’s also the cleanest fiber, I have yet to find any VM in it!

I'm loving both the Felter's Fleece and Felter's Palette collections, with tons of different colors to play with for my needle felting paintings. The wool is great to work with. This is like that new box of Crayola Crayons on Christmas morning!!! When you first open it, you will just want to take in ALL of the beautiful colors!...then the creative juices will take over!! Beautiful, clean wool. ( little to no veg. matter) Excellent color range from saturated to more subdued shades. Felts quickly! Very few ( if any) wool suppliers offer "sample sets". This is an excellent way to find your favorite colors. I have no doubt I will find a use for each and every beautiful little roll of wooly goodness in this set!
